A Look Back at The Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds were originally called, "The Cincinnati Red Stockings." They became a
professional team in 1869. In 1889 they dropped the
"stockings" and became The Cincinnati Reds.
Some of the many players and pitchers who played for the Reds
were, Joe Nuxhall, ( who later became part of the radio
broadcasting team)Ted Kluszewskiwho was the NL home run leader
in 1954, Frank Robinson, who was named Rookie of the Year
in 1956. In the 1960's baseball greats such as Pete Rose,
Tony Perez, Johnny Bench,and Dave Concepcion came from the Red's
farm team.
